A refreshed Beijing retreat
After undergoing an extensive multi-million dollar renovation that began in 2010, The Kerry Hotel, Beijing, is now one of the capital's hottest hotels. Conveniently located in the city's Central Business District, the hotel is accessible to the adjacent China World shopping center via an enclosed skybridge. An onyx and white marble floor sets the stage in the lobby, with glittering crystal chandeliers and a golden cloud of sculptural butterflies hanging above the living room-style furnishings. The hotel's 486 rooms are spacious and feature an inviting earth-toned color palette, contrasting textures of smooth wood and buttery leather, walls of windows, plush beds and advanced Toto washlets in the bathrooms. Business travelers can avail themselves of a caffeine kick from the in-room Nespresso machine, while leisure travelers will enjoy the complimentary mini bar beverages, including sodas, juices and beer.
A business center called The Hub provides reading materials, equipment rentals and business services in multiple languages. The lobby gets going every evening with one of Beijing's most popular hotel happy hours at Centro, a sleek space with pulsing music and expertly crafted cocktails. Fitness enthusiasts will love the hotel’s brand new Kerry Sports Beijing fitness facility, the second such multi-million dollar renovation project to open in China after Shanghai. There’s a professional grade gym, locker rooms, wet areas, juice bar, massage services and exercise studios for yoga, Pilates, dance classes and kick-boxing. Plans for more than 75,000 additional square feet include multi-purpose courts for tennis, basketball and badminton, as well as an Adventure Zone for kids.
