The Kerry Hotel, Beijing has a luxurious and modern design style, making generous use of crystal, marble and living room-style furnishings. A sea of onyx and white marble spans across the two-story lobby floor, and is lit from above by a series of suspended spherical crystal chandeliers designed by Lasvit. Clusters of plush sofas and armchairs are place throughout the lobby and are accompanied by lantern-style table lamps and large-scale Chinese ink stroke paintings. Behind the long reception desk is a backdrop of tall interlocking glass panels hand-painted with a wispy green and pink mountain landscape. Modern art, including the cloud of gold butterflies hanging by the entrance of Kerry’s Kitchen and an 59-foot-long water feature along the glass façade of the lobby dotted with cast-metal sculptures, add an upscale touch to the vibrant setting. A spiral of glass cylinders hangs from the ceiling of the second floor down the center of an illuminated stairwell, catching the light through the windows. Upbeat lounge music plays in the lobby throughout the day, giving the hotel an energetic vibe balanced by the comfy seating areas and calming color scheme.
