Boston’s public transportation system, the MBTA, is easy to use and very tourist-friendly. The MBTA stations nearest Mandarin Oriental, Boston are the Green Line (any train) at the Copley Square or Hynes Convention Center stops, or the Green Line E-train to the Prudential Center stop. Word to the wise: If you take the E-train to the Prudential Center stop and walk through the mall, you might be tempted to do a bit of shopping before checking into Mandarin Oriental, Boston. The mall boasts everything from Ann Taylor to Sephora and is home to Saks Fifth Avenue and Lord & Taylor. For guests arriving via Amtrak, you’ll come in to Boston’s South station or Back Bay station. The Back Bay station is closest to the hotel, and a $5 cab ride will drop you at the hotel’s front doors. From South Station, the cab ride will cost you between $10 and $15, depending on traffic.
