XV Beacon has one bar at Mooo, and the swanky but not stiff steakhouse is a great place for a drink. Located at the front of the restaurant, the bar is where most of the action takes place any day of the week.
On Thursday and Friday evenings, the bar at Mooo can fill up fast when locals escape from the boardrooms and oval offices in the State House to wind down their week. There are 16 seats that line the marble bar, so try to arrive early if you’re coming with a group, or be prepared to wait for a bit.
Bartenders dressed in all black are happy to shake up one of their signature cocktails or pour a glass of wine from the bar's wine list. We highly recommend ordering one of the bar’s mojitos, martinis or specialty cocktails such as the Spice and Ice, made with Don Julio Blanco tequila, mango purée, ginger and jalapeño syrup and fresh lime. Mooo also has a winning list of wines and you can order food from the full menu at the bar or from the bar menu, which includes eats such as oyster stew, Maine lobster roll and even a classic New York sirloin.
XV Beacon also has a wine room in the basement (because it’s cool like that), but it’s only available for private events and meetings. The wine room, which seats 50 people or 65 at a reception, has its own bar and kitchen.
