Hidden away in a protected valley with panoramic views of the dramatic sand-colored landscape, Amangiri sits on 600 acres in Southern Utah’s Four Corners region where Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona meet. Surrounded by soaring plateaus of sculpted sandstone and desert wilderness, the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star resort is for those who want a remote, quiet and naturally luxurious hotel experience. The resort fits so well into its raw landscape that it’s hard to tell a difference between the cement buildings dyed to match the surrounding sandstone cliffs.
As one of two Aman Resorts in the United States, Amangiri is located at 1 Kayenta Road in Canyon Point, Utah — it is at the center of the Grand Circle, near attractions like the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and numerous national parks. The nearest airport is the small one in Page, Ariz., a 25-minute drive to the resort. Car transfers are available from Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Las Vegas. And while the far-flung location may take some planning to visit, the beautiful desert scenery and unique setting are well worth the trip.
