The scene like at Grill 225 is lively and fun, attracting groups of businessmen, locals, tourists, dates and families. The restaurant inside Market Pavilion Hotel has a traditional steakhouse vibe, with dark wood walls, hardwood floors, white-cloth-covered tables, a white coffered ceiling and Rat Pack tunes in the background. You’ll also hear chatter and laughter in the dining room. Because the restaurant is an open space in the hotel lobby, you’ll see people coming and going.
Across the way, there’s a small wood bar and a handful of round wood tables with matching upholstered chairs. Diners cluster over there for a pre-dinner cocktail or a nightcap. Don’t be surprised if you see smoke wafting from the bar — it’s coming from the signature Nitrotini drink. Liquid nitrogen chills the cocktail to minus 320 degrees, which causes a plume of smoke to escape from the martini glass. It sounds gimmicky, but the Nitrotinis taste good — be sure to order the delicious French Nitrotini with Tanqueray, St-Germain Elderflower, champagne and fresh lemon if you stop into the Charleston restaurant.
