While The Peninsula Chicago hosts a 2,100-square-foot ice-skating rink on its fourth-floor Terrace during the winter, this cold-weather activity isn’t open to the public. Last winter, only guests of the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel, its Four-Star The Peninsula Spa Chicago and its Shanghai Terrace restaurant were permitted to partake in the fun of the outdoor rink overlooking the Magnificent Mile. If you're planning to visit the luxury Chicago hotel in winter 2013, you won’t have to worry about an overwhelming crowd of people while you’re enjoying yourself on the ice or grabbing a warm drink or snack among the twinkling lights and evergreen trees.
