You will find a generously sized workspace in the rooms at The Peninsula Chicago. Though it may be hard to drag yourself to do any work in a room equipped with other great amenities, the setup at this Chicago hotel makes perfecting that presentation all the more enjoyable. You will find desk drawers are thoughtfully stocked with business-related items such as pens, highlighters and paper. The outlets for re-harging your electronics and plugging in the laptop are all within easy reach. The desk is large enough to accommodate a laptop, papers and a telephone — plus there still is enough space for a room service sandwich if you must have that working lunch. To many, the make-or-break factor at a hotel work desk is the chair itself. The desk chair provided at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel was adequately comfortable for short periods of time, but don’t expect to make this your second office when in town for business. The desk also comes with a task lamp and blotter.
Each guestroom’s workspace includes an integrated sitting area with a desk lamp, two-line international direct dial phones with voice mail and speakerphone capabilities, a private fax/printer/scanner machine and complimentary high speed Wi-Fi and wired Internet access. Business supplies and a desk extension also are also provided.
