As you can imagine in the cold climate of the Windy City, The Peninsula Chicago can keep its ice-skating rink open throughout the winter season. In 2013, the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel chose to keep this guest-only activity — that’s guests of the hotel, spa and adjacent Shanghai Terrace restaurant — available until March 3. Guests of The Peninsula Chicago were permitted to enjoy the rink and its view of the city skyline and Magnificent Mile Monday through Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. If you're hoping to strap on some skates for a winter 2013 session, be sure to inquire about the rink's 2013 opening date and operating hours so you don't miss out on this exclusive winter activity that many guests of the luxury Chicago hotel treasure as a yearly tradition.
