Throughout the year, Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago plays host to a whole slew of holiday events. One of the best takes place the weekend before Thanksgiving. The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel throws the Reindeer on the River event as part of the city’s Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. Real reindeer land at the hotel’s 1.2-acre river front plaza for the festivities. The luxury hotel serves seasonal treats like apple cider with cinnamon and whipped cream, hot chocolate with housemade marshmallows, roasted chestnuts and oatmeal-scotchie whoopie pies. Thanksgiving brunch and a late dinner are offered. There’s also a live turkey petting zoo and pilgrims to interact with guests.
Every December, the hotel's Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star restuarant, Sixteen, holds a Christmas Eve dinner. The holiday cheer continues on Christmas Day with special appearances by Santa and Mrs. Claus. For New Year’s, be sure to stop by Rebar and Sixteen, both of which select a different theme each year and decorate accordingly. There’s also a New Year’s Day brunch for those who didn’t party too hard the night before.
Come Easter, Sixteen brings bunnies, chicks and other farm animals in for the kids. The Easter Bunny visits the dining room for pictures, while the chef puts out a big brunch spread. Needless to say, the Chicago hotel knows how to celebrate the holidays.
