What is history of the golf courses at The Broadmoor?

The three golf courses at The Broadmoor boast a celebrity-studded history that’s bound to impress players and fans of the sport. The historic East Golf Course, built in 1918, and its adjacent counterpart, West Golf Course, feature the work of two legendary 20th-century architects: Donald Ross and Robert Trent Jones Sr. Both courses have hosted major tournaments (including the 2011 U.S. Women’s Open), but perhaps most notably the 1959 U.S. Amateur, where Jack Nicklaus became a household name when he nabbed his first national title. He’s also lent his name to the beautiful Mountain Golf Course, in whose original construction Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay had a hand; Nicklaus’s eponymous firm redesigned the course in 2006, and it offers wonderful scenic vistas, wide fairways and large greens.
