For all you racket-wielding enthusiasts who want to hone your skills on the tennis court, bring your game to the Broadmoor. The Five-Star Colorado Springs hotel offers six options: two hydrogrid clay courts and four cushioned hard courts, two of which are covered and heated for year-round use. All are in full view of the lush green resort landscape and Cheyenne Mountain beyond it. Reserve a court at the Tennis Pro Shop, preferably 24 hours in advance. Be sure to give the staff six hours’ notice if you need to cancel your court time (this includes cancellations for lessons and drill clinics). If you fall under the six-hour mark, expect 50 percent of the court, lesson or drill fee to be charged to your room.
Six courts are situated for optimal views of the mountains with several observation areas for spectators. The four hard courts have a cushioned surface to reduce jarring to the body; the two clay courts are green Har-Tru, which are open from May to October. Two of the hard courts are enclosed during the winter months.
