Though Colorado Springs is home to a number of golf courses, including Cheyenne Mountain Resort, Gleneagle and Patty Jewett, The Broadmoor itself has not one but three private 18-hole championship courses, designed and reconfigured over the years by such legendary architects as Donald Ross, Robert Trent Jones Sr., Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. Staffed by PGA-certified pros who offer one-on-one instruction as well as lead clinics and plan group tournaments, the East, West and Mountain Courses also happen to be Audubon-sanctioned sanctuaries.
Remember to check with each course regarding proper golf attire. The courses at this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel, for example, do not allow any denim and require collared shirts for men and women.
The Broadmoor offers three private championship golf courses. The Country Club of Colorado/Cheyenne Mountain Resort also offers a championship course. Gleneagle Golf Club is a semi-private club open to the public. Patty Jewett Golf Course is the third oldest public course west of the Mississippi. Valley Hi Golf Course is also in the area.
