Little Palm Island Resort & Spa

A secluded Florida Keys hideaway
VERIFIED LUXURY
You don’t have to leave the country to find an idyllic dose of tropical style. Little Palm Island Resort & Spa, located on a private island in the Florida Keys, delivers a laidback brand of glamour so luxurious, you’ll fit right in with the many celebrity guests who come here for a secluded retreat.

The all-suite resort is sprinkled with bungalows decorated in a South Seas style, with canopied beds, Jacuzzi soaking tubs and private decks. For those looking to spend time lounging, there are plenty of hammocks strewn about the island for sunset snoozing.

Little Palm Island offers more than just peace and quiet. Rent one of the complimentary kayaks, paddleboard around the private island or fish for your dinner. If being in the water isn’t your thing, take a ride to the mainland in Truman, the classic wood boat named for the US president who famously spent time at the resort.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The resort’s SpaTerre offers a menu of treatments tailored to its island location—try the madrugada water massage, which takes place in the shallow waters that lap at the resort’s white beaches.
  • Human interaction is few and far between, but the local key deer are quick to welcome you to the property and become especially gregarious when food is around. Equally friendly geckos and songbirds are happy to join you on your patio for a day in the sun as well.
  • Solace and tranquility are felt as soon as you set foot on the 5-acre island. Soft music and a few hushed voices are the only sounds you’ll hear while living the Little Palm life.
  • The resort staff are happy to accommodate unique requests including private seating at the restaurant or arranging a quick in-room dining breakfast experience on the day of your departure.
  • With plush chairs set in pairs along the edge of the water and an umbrella for needed shade on the hottest of days, the picturesque beach is a key area of the property. The pool area just behind the beach provides easy access to cocktails and snacks.
Things to Know
  • While staff may not be the most formal or eloquent, they offer a relaxed vibe that you can’t help but emulate while experiencing the property. Often seen in personal clothing of khaki shorts and button-up fishing shirts, the staff adheres to the island atmosphere.
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi is available around the island, however small electronics are frowned upon. Keeping with this tranquil vibe, the rooms are also free of televisions, but if you’re in need of a fix, a flat-screen can be found behind a curtain in the library.
  • To maintain the serene atmosphere guests enjoy, Little Palm Island Resort & Spa serves as an adults-only property. Teenagers over the age of 16 are welcome, though most guests are over the age of 21.
  • Though privacy is key throughout the Florida Keys resort, guests should be advised that the restaurant and lounge are open to off-property guests. Weekends become especially busy because of the popular brunch.
The Rooms
  • Little Palm Island Resort & Spa offers a variety of guest rooms, all of which are luxurious oceanfront bungalows with private verandas and tropical outdoor showers.
  • Framed in dark wood with elegant butterfly netting, the four-post bed is the focal point of the room. Silky, stark white sheets contrast with the green-bordered bedding, and numerous plush pillows, including matching green decorative pillows, make for a luxurious experience.
  • Every suite includes both an indoor bathing area with a combination shower/tub or whirlpool as well as an outdoor shower surrounded by bamboo, allowing guests to truly connect with the island’s natural beauty.
  • Indoors, guests will find granite countertops and brightly lit areas for grooming, as well as unique touches such as distinctive green stone tile surrounding the bathtub and hand painted ceramic containers for amenities.
  • Couples looking to escape for an even more secluded getaway can opt for the Island Romance Suite, which includes a private fire pit area and an oversized veranda surrounded by lush foliage and ocean views. Chilled champagne and fresh fruit will await you when you arrive to the room.
The Restaurant
  • While the Florida Keys resort only offers one restaurant, The Dining Room, the exceptional staff are able to turn any setting around the island into the ideal dining spot, from ocean-side banquets to romantic dining experiences on the Sunset Dock.
  • The Dining Room (open for breakfast, lunch and dinner) serves up an eclectic, seasonally fresh menu of French and Latin flavors dubbed Modern Tropical Cuisine.
  • The menu changes with the seasons, but your meal could include yellowtail snapper ceviche with passion fruit and coconut gelee; roasted pork tenderloin with corn, black beans, sweet plantain and bacon hash; finished off with a palm sugar banana split with Captain Morgan’s ice cream.
  • In addition to a popular weekly Sunday brunch, the restaurant hosts monthly Full Moon dinners and Wine Maker events.
  • The single resort restaurant offers a plethora of venues for your meal including the candlelit dining room, the breezy terrace overlooking the beach and several private seating options including the exclusive chef’s table located directly in the kitchen.
