70 Rooms / 17 Villas
Overlooking a lake and surrounded by rolling green tea fields, Fuchun Resort Hangzhou offers city dwellers a chance to get away from it all and surround themselves with nature. The resort is located in the village of Fuyang, a 45-minute drive from Hangzhou. There, you can participate in activities such as golfing on the resort’s 18-hole course, biking, hiking, calligraphy lessons, swimming, orange picking, tai chi and yoga, or relax on the restaurant’s terrace that overlooks the lake, sipping a cup of locally harvested longjing tea. (Little ones can stay busy in the kids’ playroom.)
After winding down with a day full of activities, retreat into one of Fuchun Resort Hangzhou’s 28 rooms or 57 suites. They look out at either the garden or the lake, and windows open so you can let in the fresh countryside air (for an additional vista, snag a suite for a bathtub adjacent to the window). Rooms are furnished with simple, elegant dark wood pieces and are spacious, comfortable and homey.
The resort has two restaurants — Chinese spot Asian Corner and all-day dining venue Lake Lounge. Lake Lounge has a wraparound terrace from which you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner while overlooking the lake and the tea fields. Though your itinerary will surely be packed, reserve a time slot at Fuchun Spa. Try a service in the foot massage room — a Chinese medicine master created the menu of reflexology treatments exclusively for the spa.
