The Spa At The Hotel Hershey

VERIFIED LUXURY
Chocolate reigns at the three-story, Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star The Spa At The Hotel Hershey, where the treatments make the most of the luscious signature ingredient, from the whipped cocoa bath to the chocolate bean polish. The 30,000-square-foot facility includes an inhalation room, quiet room for mediation, soaking tubs, steam rooms, saunas and signature showers for hydrotherapy treatments. There's also an indoor swimming pool and fitness center for guests to use, as well as daily fitness classes.

Our Inspector's Highlights
http://www.forbestravelguide.com/hershey-pennsylvania• The treatment rooms at the Pennsylvania spa look out over the back of the property, which include the hotel’s formal gardens, gazebos, reflecting pools and Harvest restaurant. Beyond the property, rolling hills take over in a lovely vista of the countryside.

• The choice of three relaxation rooms to spend time in before and after your treatment is a luxury many spas don’t have.

• The refreshments provided in the relaxation rooms are deliciously decadent. What other spa would offer you mugs of sipping chocolate to enjoy next to a pecan-fronted fireplace?

• No candy says Valentine's Day like chocolate, which is why The Spa At The Hotel Hershey is the perfect place to celebrate.

• There is a small shop in the reception lobby that sells bath and body products in its exclusive line. For more shopping, there is a second, larger shop on the ground floor of the hotel that sells not only the signature products, but yoga wear, pajamas, candles, CDs, DVDs and other items geared toward a relaxing and holistic lifestyle.
Things to Know
• The best way to make an appointment at the Hershey spa is to call directly. You’ll be connected with a spa associate who can look over the schedule with you, answer any questions you may have about the yummy-sounding chocolate-inspired treatments, and help you select and time out the services.

• If you are a guest at The Hotel Hershey or The Hershey Lodge, you can also schedule an appointment through the concierge desk.

• Due to the chocolate spa’s popularity, appointments should be made as far in advance as possible.

• Weekends are traditionally busier, so keep this in mind if you are looking for a Saturday or Sunday appointment.

• If you overdose on chocolate and get a stomachache, you must give 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule treatments. And you should do this by calling the spa directly—not over email or through the concierge.
The Treatments
• Kick off your visit to the spa with the Cocoa Massage, which involves a traditional Swedish massage that’s enhanced by the spa’s signature cocoa oil.

• The decadent Cocoa Facial Experience mixes the heady aromas of caramel, strawberry, rose and mint with, of course, chocolate. These yummy-sounding ingredients are not only delicious, but provide soothing properties and skin-boosting antioxidants.

•  To allow some of those great ingredients to get to work on the rest of your body, opt for the Chocolate & Roses Decadence Body Treatment. Get an exfoliating scrub, heated body wrap and deep moisture treatment in one fell swoop.

• While it may only take 15 minutes, the spa’s signature (and patented) Whipped Cocoa Bath is worth adding on … if only to say you have bathed under a mini waterfall of frothy chocolate milk.

• We’d suggest ending your sweet stay with a Sweet Hands or Sweet Feet treatment, in which your manicure or pedicure includes even more calorie-free chocolate.
The Facilities
• Find a relaxing space that fits your style — whether it’s the Moroccan-themed Oasis Lounge, the Quiet Room with a view of the gardens, or the peaceful Silent Relaxation Room — which means you’ll be even more relaxed when your therapist arrives to escort you to your treatment room.

• The Oasis serves as the spa’s interior lounge and restaurant. After your treatment, take a seat in the spacious room and mull over whether you should order the butternut squash bisque or the seared tuna.

•  The complimentary indoor hotel pool and its Jacuzzi are a great way to end your visit. You’ll leave feeling refreshed and reenergized.

• We love the restorative aromas that emanate from the Inhalation Room. Scents like jasmine and white tea are a nice change from the standard eucalyptus that fills many inhalation rooms.
