- We can’t stop thinking about the wide array of French-, Chinese- and English-style pastries served throughout the hotel’s many restaurants and room service. Consider yourself warned: After a croissant at Four Seasons Hong Kong you will be ruined for all other croissants.
- The sexy, dimly lit French restaurant glows with candlelight and the under lit walkway that leads through the 1930s-Shanghai-inspired room. With a vast wine selection and one of Hong Kong’s only cheese caves, this is a special occasion restaurant you’ll want to visit again and again.
- There’s not a bad room in the hotel, thanks to the gleaming, floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides of this glass and steel skyscraper. Whether you prefer a city view or a view of Victoria Harbour, you’ll have an ideal perch for taking in Hong Kong’s action below you.
- With underwater classical music to keep you entertained while you swim and a whirlpool that overlooks Victoria Harbour, the pools would be great on their own. But add in the Five-Star service the pool staff delivers (they’ll shower you with treats on the hour, from cool Evian mists to frozen mojitos) and you may want to book a room here based on this amenity alone.
- The staff at this Five-Star hotel is so on top of its game, you’ll have a hard time finding something to fault. Room? Spotless. Need your drink refilled? Already done. Too much luggage to carry? They’ll take it for you before you even have to ask.
Things to Know
- Though the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel’s website says it is only a three-minute walk from the MTR or Airport Express train through IFC mall, the hotel is actually a bit of a distance and it will cause too much zigzagging through subway tunnels and designer boutiques if you have a lot of luggage. Instead, take the complimentary shuttle from Hong Kong Station, or book a private car to take you there.
- The hotel is the location of Lung King Heen, which is considered the best Cantonese restaurant in the city, and perhaps the world. The elegant dining room with Victoria Harbour views is a favorite spot for sampling dim sum; there’s an age-appropriate kids’s menu, which makes the restaurant popular with families.
- Besides its super views of Victoria Harbour, Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong is a quick jaunt to the storied Star Ferry, the historic boat service that runs between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. You’ll want to make this trip at least once; it’s the best way to see the waterfront view of your hotel room from the outside in.
- About those views: You’ll be able to take them in from your treadmill when you fit in a workout at the hotel’s large and fully stocked fitness center. The staff will keep you hydrated with icy bottled water and supplied with everything from earphones to newspapers.
The Rooms
- There’s a distinct sense of place in the 399 spacious, elegant guest rooms and suites at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong. All are tastefully decorated with contemporary Western- or Chinese-style artwork and accoutrements and include leather chairs, a king-sized bed, flat-screen TV and marble-floored bathrooms stocked with L’Occitane (rooms) or Bulgari (suites) products.
- The hotel’s 54 extravagant suites range in size from 732 square feet in the Four Seasons Executive Suite to 3,430 square feet in the Presidential Suite. Some have separate dining areas and guest powder rooms, while the palatial Presidential and Premier Suites, located on the 42nd and 43rd floors, include extravagant amenities such as a stocked pantry, dining areas that seat up to 12 people, butler service and round-trip airport transfer by limousine.
- Because Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong is housed in a tall, glass-encased tower that is perched on the edge of Victoria Harbour and towers over any other neighboring buildings, every room at this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel has a great view, of either the city and Victoria Peak or Victoria Harbour. There are two interior design styles in the rooms, Western (with silk-padded headboards and marble entries) and Chinese (with contemporary furniture and art).
- The marble-floored bathrooms at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong are simply gorgeous. We loved the sparkling beige-and-black tilework, the walk-in rain shower, LCD televisions built into the mirror and soaking in a relaxing bubble bath in the large tub.
