Hotel Icon in Hong Kong is in a neighborhood already crowded with established hotels, but stands out among them for its high design, polished service and modern facilities. The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel is the culmination of years of thought for design gurus like Sir Terence Conran, Rocco Yim, William Lim and Vivienne Tam, and also integrates work by a roster of artists like Patrick Blanc, who installed the three-story living garden that crawls its way up one wall of the lobby. A soaring glass atrium and contemporary fixtures like curved wooden benches, movie spotlights and stacked-platform desks give the lobby an approachable yet luxurious atmosphere, with a buzzy quality that doesn’t quit from morning to night. The staff is well-trained and exceptionally warm, quick to smile, and greets guests by name. We love the spacious and clean-lined rooms, as well as the recreational facilities housed on the ninth floor. In addition to a two-story gym with Technogym equipment, full locker rooms and glittering mosaic-tiled walls, the hotel also has an outdoor pool terrace overlooking Victoria Harbour. Another fantastic view can be enjoyed from the top 28th floor, where a club lounge and the refined Cantonese restaurant Above & Beyond is located.
