What special amenities do the rooms have at The Peninsula Hong Kong?

You’ll find a number of special amenities in your room at The Peninsula Hong Kong, a historic hotel located on the Kowloon peninsula. On our most recent visit to this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Hong Kong hotel, we were treated to three welcome amenities: a plate of fresh fruit that was replenished daily; two ornate, Oriental-style boxes left in the bathroom containing a neatly wrapped bar of soap; and traditional Chinese tea service that a member of the housekeeping staff brought to our room.

Other special room amenities at The Peninsula Hong Kong include Samsung tablets that control everything from a large 3D flat-screen television to the room’s lighting and temperature, luxury Davi Napa bath products, an iPod dock and a bedside charging station equipped with plugs for just about any major handheld device sold in the United States, Asia and most parts of Europe.

The luxurious oversized bathrooms at The Peninsula Hong Kong are a signature of the guest experience, and the bath amenities live up to this billing: they are all custom-made for the hotel by Davi of Napa and include shampoo, bath gel, conditioner and moisturizer. In addition, each bathroom is supplied with high-quality dental kits, shaving kits, nail care kits, gentle hand-wash laundry detergent and heavy-duty shower caps. Soap is presented in the hotel’s signature carved red lacquer Chinese box — the most popular souvenir at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel. Bathrooms also feature special noise-cancelling speaker phones, while the entire room is equipped with VoIP telephones that allow unlimited free calling anywhere in the world, a most unusual and useful benefit. Rooms also boast high-end Nespresso machines and capsules for coffee, espresso and Western or Eastern tea service.
