Fusing traditional Chinese elements with contemporary flair, The Peninsula Spa Hong Kong’s interior design creates a sanctuary of seclusion and serenity. A vision of renowned interior designer Henry Leung, the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star spa uses natural elements in sophisticated ways (think dark reclaimed wood floors, tall stalks of green bamboo, textured granite and a cascading waterfall curtain). Large, dark wood furniture and clusters of candles are scattered here and there in sultry, dimly lit spaces throughout the spa. It feels at once cavernous and cozy. The dark tones are warm and inviting, a striking contrast to the (often) bright blue harbor view in the rooms and saunas. While most luxury spas simply aim for sheer aesthetic bliss, this stunner takes it to a new level.
