Taking urban elegance to new heights
VERIFIED LUXURY
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These properties deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.
Four-Star
These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended

Our Inspector's Highlights
- Service at the traditionally business-oriented hotel is also notably speedy and efficient, with any request or issue being solved in mere minutes.
-
The Beijing hotel takes advantage of having some of the best views in the city with floor-to-ceiling windows in nearly every room of the property.
-
Along with thoughtful details like fresh orchids in your room, Nespresso coffee makers, welcome gifts of fresh fruit, and tasty chocolate treats left on your bed following turndown, the China World Summit Wing embodies what it means to be a luxury hotel.
-
Even the smallest bedroom at China World Summit Wing is roomy at about 600 square feet, and the bathrooms — with their double sinks, separate water closets, walk-in showers and extra deep soaking tubs — are about as large as some Beijing apartments.
-
Beijing is a loud and often hectic city, so unwind with a traditional Chinese massage treatment at CHI, the hotel’s spa, or take a dip in the unique, indoor infinity pool before detoxing in the herbal steam room.
Things to Know
- For a unique view, request a west-facing room and you’ll be greeted with vistas of the ancient Forbidden City.
-
Located on Level 64, the Resident's Foyer offers the benefits of an exclusive club lounge to every guest staying at the hotel, like continental breakfast in the morning; soft drinks, coffee, tea and fresh fruit throughout the day; and a happy hour from 6 to 8 p.m. daily.
-
The hotel is located in Beijing’s business district, so while the property is superior to the many hotels found in the touristy areas, it is about a 15-minute cab ride away from popular attractions like Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.
-
The interiors of the hotel match the modern exterior, with high ceilings all around, not to mention the gray stone pool area featuring an indoor infinity pool and state-of-the-art gym with dark wood flooring and gold trim.
The Rooms
- Averaging 600 square feet in size, the rooms feature classic dark wooden décor, top-of-the-line furnishings and subtle Chinese touches.
-
The king-sized beds, located in the center of the room, are backed by wallpaper depicting Asian mountains nestled in the clouds accompanied by dark wood furniture and paneling on the walls that lend a contemporary, almost masculine sensibility to the room.
-
A Simmons mattress topped with a feather bed ensures you’ll sleep well, and the dark wooden headboard features two metal reading lights in the upper corners that neatly pop in and out of the molding
-
Located from levels 64 to 77, all guest rooms and suites at China World Summit Wing, Beijing, have floor-to-ceiling windows to provide stunning city views.
-
The bathrooms are white marble beauties featuring double sinks, separate water closets, walk-in showers and extra deep soaking tubs stocked with L’Occitaine bath products (or Bulgari if you’re in a suite), and even an in-mirror LCD television.
The Restaurants
- Grill 79 is the hotel’s signature restaurant, and also the tallest in Beijing, offering stunning views and contemporary western cuisine, including steakhouse fare and updated versions of classic dishes.
- Seventh Son dishes up delicious Chinese cuisine including its signature crispy chicken along with more unique offerings like abalone and bird’s nest.
-
The luxury hotel’s Japanese restaurant, Nadaman, serves kaiseki-influenced fare along with teppanyaki and sushi offerings. Be sure to try the sea urchin pudding with jelly consommé—it’s creamy, light, and tastes of the ocean.
-
The Beijing hotel’s buzzy cocktail lounge on the top floor of the China World Trade Center boasts amazing views and an equally impressive selection of classic and contemporary cocktails. You can’t really go wrong with a drink here, but we’re partial to the refreshing gin gimlet spiked with a hint of lemongrass.
