VERIFIED LUXURY
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These properties deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.
Four-Star

Sheltered within a pine forest and shrouded on a hillside of Paro Valley, COMO Uma Paro evokes the feeling of being worlds away despite being just a 10-minute drive from Paro International Airport. Designed in the style of a Bhutanese dzong with an inner courtyard and built of handcrafted stone, wood and tiles, much of the interior features the work of traditional artisans. Local architecture is blended with a refined contemporary style. Wellness is taken seriously at the Como Shambhala wellness facilities, which feature two private hot-stone bathhouses, an indoor pool, a 25-meter outdoor lap pool, a mountain-facing sundeck and an indoor gym. Twenty guest rooms, with forest and valley view options, and nine villas sprawl across the 38-acre hilltop estate. Buildings are organized into multiple smaller blocks and villas, complementing the terrain's contours.
Try your hand at Bhutan’s national sport on the property’s archery ground and embark on a short, meandering hike to Zuri Dzong through a directly connected trail. Access the famous Tiger's Nest Monastery and other local hikes in the surrounding hills through the helpful direction of guest experience planners.
