  • Rates include full breakfast at Indochine or in the comfort of your lodge, a wine tasting and daily transfers to town.
  • Each day between 6 and 7 p.m., you can enjoy canapés and sparkling wine in the comfort and privacy of your lodge.

  • Art is an integral part of the fabric of the Delaire Graff Estate, with each piece personally picked by Laurence Graff, a prominent collector of South African art. The luxury hotel features pieces by well-known local artists such as sculptor Dylan Lewis, father-and-son creatives Anton and Lionel Smit, late painter Cecil Skotnes and animated filmmaker William Kentridge.

The Rooms

  • The interiors of the boutique hotel are accentuated by touches of Cape Dutch architecture and incorporate a variety of local materials, such as grass wallpaper, handwoven rugs and leather. These natural materials are further complemented by beautiful linens, bespoke furnishings and breathtaking vineyard and mountain views.
  • Deluxe and Luxury Lodges come outfitted with a terrace and heated plunge pool that make for a romantic Winelands escape.
  • Superior Lodges are refined and elegant, with the most exquisite Spanish marble bathrooms and the option of interconnecting rooms, making them ideal for family or friends traveling together.
  • The two-bedroom Presidential Lodges accommodate those who need more space. The 1,400-square-foot venues boast a butler’s kitchen, spacious living and dining rooms and a terrace complete with a full-size heated pool and views over the estate’s manicured gardens and Stellenbosch Valley.
  • The opulent Owners Villa delivers luxury on a grand scale, with four bedrooms (plus two rooms for staff), a 150-foot heated pool, a Jacuzzi, a fully equipped kitchen and a dedicated hospitality team, including a butler and chef. The 7,100-square-foot, elegantly decorated villa showcases works by some of Africa’s most celebrated modern and contemporary artists, hand-picked from Laurence Graff’s private collection.

The Restaurants

  • Dining at Delaire Estate is focused on the freshest, ethically sourced local ingredients. Produce is collected from the estate’s greenhouse and vegetable gardens, which are committed to seasonal farming.
  • The Delaire Graff Restaurant serves classic bistro favorites with a nod toward South African cuisine. The tasting menu carries a selection of mouth-watering, seasonal dishes like coffee-spiced venison with sour cherries paired with estate wines.
  • Indochine head chef Virgil Kahn has created an Asian-inspired menu tantamount to fine-dining food theater. Expect artful Asian tapas, a tea ceremony and dishes like chili-pickled tuna, and shiitake and fennel dashi.
  • Watching over you while dining at Indochine is the stunning Swallows in Flight art installation. Created by Lionel Smit and Andre Stead, the sculpture incorporates more than 1,000 swallows and is an artistic marvel.
  • The sophisticated, art-filled Wine Lounge lets you taste your way through the estate’s noted vintages, ranging from a chenin-blanc-driven MCC sparkling wine to a reserve cabernet sauvignon.
