Cliffrose Springdale, Curio Collection by Hilton

A serene stay near Zion National Park
VERIFIED LUXURY

Cliffrose Springdale, Curio Collection by Hilton sits on the banks of Southern Utah’s Virgin River. The 53-room sanctuary wisely avoids making a big architectural fuss in the idyllic mountainous conditions; instead, the rock- and wood-covered structure blends right in with the sandstone walls from Zion National Park, the stunning natural attraction whose entrance sits just a 200-yard walk from the hotel.

But where this property could have simply kicked its hiking boots up and allowed for postcard-perfect views to do all the work, it goes the extra mile to ensure its rooms are smartly appointed, its activities roster is robust and its staff is attentive. Sure, sitting in the shadows of Zion is the unquestioned high point here, but a plunge in the pool and serene patio lunches are incredible selling points as well.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • With a name like “Cliffrose,” it makes sense that varying shades of salmon would pop up in every room. Units are tastefully splashed in pink walls, floral art and pastel pillows.
  • The Canyon View rooms and Grand View Villas provide the most phenomenal scenes from their respected patios. But beyond breathtaking looks at nature, the Grand View accommodations step up the lavishness with 14-foot ceilings and a full kitchen.
  • The Riverside Pool and waterfall hot tub are outstanding spots for a quick dip or a long, relaxing afternoon on a chaise lounge. And it’s open year-round, so take your time deciding which option sounds best.
  • The location is ideal for those venturing to Zion National Park. Its proximity to the park makes for a stunning setting with the jagged sandstone mountains (including the Watchman) in the backdrop and the river cutting through the property.
  • The new Five Petals Spa is an essential stop for hikers in need of a rubdown or skin restoration. The Essential Weeping Rock Massage, however, is good for anyone in need of some oil-enhanced, hot-towel-applied pampering for 90 minutes.

Things to Know

  • While having the entrance to Zion National Park only a short stroll from the hotel lobby is a plus, stunning Bryce Canyon is but a pleasant 90-mile drive from the property as well.
  • To show just how centrally located Cliffrose Springdale is, you can get to the Grand Canyon’s North Rim in just 2.5 hours, too.
  • Contact Zion Outfitter or Zion Adventure Company for a tubing excursion along the Virgin River.
  • There’s a complimentary local shuttle that will bring you to Zion National Park Visitor Center.
  • Be it breakfast (blueberry pancakes), lunch (chicken Caesar wrap) or an early dinner (Cajun pasta), Anthera is the rustic, onsite dining option.
