Park Hotel Vitznau

Natural beauty along the shores of Lake Lucerne
VERIFIED LUXURY

Nestled among the breathtakingly beautiful Swiss mountains and framed by a shimmering lake, Park Hotel Vitznau is a transformative destination. It surrounds you with stunning natural beauty, but there’s more. It resides in a 100-year-old castle, replete with turrets and stone, sprawling balconies and lush manicured gardens.

Yet under the historic exterior, the newly renovated property boasts modern interiors and innovative technology. For example, every accommodation in the all-suite hotel has an electronic panel near the door that not only lets you signal “do not disturb,” but also provides video footage of outside the door.

Beyond the Edwardian façade you’ll also find a spacious, modern spa that offers everything from facilities that include a Kneipp foot bath to soothe feet and legs after a day of hiking or flying to treatments like the White Caviar Brightening and Firming Facial from Swiss brand La Prairie. Plus, the spa houses a dazzling Alps-facing pool because, after all, everything in this hotel is about the view.

The Rooms

  • All the accommodations at this luxury hotel are individually decorated.
  • Park Hotel Vitznau calls each of its corridors a “gallery” based on an area of interest: Wine, Dine, Medical, Finance, Endowment, Music, Theatre and Verlinde (inspired by the surrealist paintings of Claude Verlinde). The 47 residences, suites and junior suites within these galleries have unique designs to match the theme.
  • While the bathrooms vary, they all feature granite and standalone tubs that beg for a soak.
  • Suites have both lake- and mountain-view options. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in the natural light and fresh air.

The Restaurants

  • At Focus Atelier, chef Patrick Mahler and his team craft multi-course tasting menus of elegant and colorful French cuisine using products sourced from all over the world. One of the specialties on the ever-changing menus is oysters in buttermilk herb oil.

  • When in the mood for a drink and a snack, visit Verlinde, Park Hotel Vitznau’s armagnac and cognac bar. Nine original works by artist Claude Verlinde hanging on the walls make for elegant surroundings to try the more than 200 vintage armagnacs and cognacs.
  • Carnivores will want to reserve a table at the Grill for quality meats, from Wagyu entrecôte to South African rock lobster tails.
