Don’t think a meal at Azurea will just be an appetizer, entrée and dessert; you’ll receive several special edible gifts from the chef during your meal, starting out with an amuse bouche and ending with a tray of chocolate mignardises. The amuse will likely be a small bite, like tuna confit topped with mojito-marinated tomatoes or perhaps a tiny skewer of a cherry tomato, slice of mozzarella and a single basil leaf or even a solo clam topped with pico de gallo. We also received a small intermezzo between our appetizer and entrée of a raspberry sorbet with fresh berries, which was fresh and palate cleansing. But our favorite gift came from the pastry chef and consisted of three artful, delectable chocolates with unique fillings like a peanut butter-banana ganache.
