While the historic American Club luxury Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel does not allow pets, the resort’s sister property, Inn on Woodlake, does. There, you’ll find pooch-friendly amenities like walking trails, food and water bowls, and treats in each room. The hotel currently has five rooms designated for canines, so reservations must be made well in advance to ensure you can snag one. For each stay, a $75 dog surcharge will be added to your bill, and certain restrictions apply. For example, dogs must be under 70 pounds, fully vaccinated, crated when they’re in the room alone, and kept out of the inn’s public areas. Also, only two dogs are allowed per room. Once you get settled, explore the nearby walking trails — the Inn on Woodlake provides a map of recommended paths, as well as a list of local pet supply shops, dog walking services and veterinarians.
