The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star American Club is a golfer’s paradise, with three top courses. Each of them is less than 15 minutes away and easily accessible by the resort’s free shuttle service. Whistling Straits Golf Course, the resort’s premier course, is made up of two different courses — the Irish and the Straits, with the Straits being the most scenic and sought-after. As the jewel in the resort’s golf crown, the Lake Michigan shore-hugging course won scores of new national fans after hosting the 2010 PGA Tournament. Running alongside the Straits is the Alice and Pete Dye-designed grass-and-dune Irish course, which, with its rolling hills and lake views, is also quite pretty. Meanwhile, Blackwolf Run, also designed by Pete Dye, is located in a lush river basin and surrounded by forestry.
