Fun activities for kids are in somewhat short supply on The American Club hotel’s immediate grounds, but if you’re willing to explore the possibilities across the resort, some interesting sports and rec options will certainly present themselves. You should check with the front desk at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel about rentals or to arrange outings for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice-skating, biking or sledding. The Kohler Sports Core Health Club, about a half a mile away, offers year-round fun, with an indoor family pool and tennis courts, plus a manmade beach for the warmer months. At the resort’s River Wildlife private reserve, the range of outdoor activities includes canoeing along the Sheboygan River and, for kids 12 and up, horseback riding. For girls ages 8 to 15, the Kohler Waters Spa offers a special Mom and Me Nails package. Babysitting is also available, if you’ve brought the kids along and just need to get away for an intimate dinner or spa treatment during your stay at The American Club.
