Along the ledge beneath the Normandy Room’s wall of wine shelves, guests may notice some elegant, organically shaped glass sculptures. These odd but beautiful pieces of art actually serve as wine decanters designed by eleventh-generation Austrian wine glass masters Riedel. Look for whimsical pieces such as the “escargot,” a vaguely snail shaped sculptural vessel, or the Tyrol, which could pass for an Alpine horn — if your mind is open and imagination vivid. Wine glasses and additional glassware at the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star restaurant are of similar European quality and crafted by German outfit Schott Zwiesel.
