Someone put some serious forethought into the soundtrack at CUT. It deftly eschews the standard elevator tunes of many fine dining restaurants and instead goes straight for our heart with an alternative/classic rock mix (during our 7:30 p.m. dinner, anyhow). While eating, we heard songs by The Killers, David Bowie, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Coldplay. The noise level in the room sits about level with the music, if not surpassing it, so you probably won’t notice the music unless you’re really paying attention — but the upbeat mix proves CUT is going for a livelier, more upbeat feel than the staid steakhouses of yesterday.
