The airy Edwardian-inspired rooms at Dukes are furnished with a number of special amenities, especially when guests stay in suite-level accommodations. Regular rooms provide an umbrella, vanity mirror and two full-length mirrors in the closet, along with a shoe shine brush and an excellent mini-bar that includes some specialty items like shortbread, gourmet chocolate and coconut water from Thailand. The magazine selection also shines, including a local city guide and publications on home décor and luxury travel. The best feature may be the bay and picture windows, which actually open all the way to let in some fresh air and allow guests to poke their heads out and look onto the front courtyard below. Fresh fruit is provided every day in all rooms, while suites are additionally furnished with an iPod-compatible sound system and video game consoles upon request.
