After a two-year, top-to-bottom renovation, the design style of Hotel Bel-Air is understated with a fresh take on Hollywood Regency. The property is made up of pale-pink bungalows and the lobby is in a mission-style building with Spanish colonial arched windows and French deco furnishings. The centerpiece of the airy lobby is a large hanging bronze fireplace with a natural stone hearth in the center. Distressed hardwood floors are an interesting contrast to the metallic walls. Rooms have a black, white and cream color palette with contemporary touches like lacquer bed frames and artwork of bright botanicals. Natural wood ceilings and limestone floors bring the outdoors in at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel. Indoor spaces easily flow onto outdoor areas throughout the property, including rooms with screened in work spaces and charming patios. Hundreds of trees were preserved and thousands of plants were carefully reinstalled during the recent renovation.
