The Beverly Hilton is a good home base if you plan to hit up the numerous popular local attractions. Tourists head across the street to Beverly Gardens Park to take a picture of its 40-foot-long lit-up “Beverly Hills” sign. Fashionistas load their Louis Vuitton purses with credit cards and head to nearby Rodeo Drive to do some shopping. People with stars in their eyes follow the big white iconic “Hollywood” letters to take a tour of Tinseltown and maybe spy some celebrity homes, or try to fit their hands inside the stars’ prints on the Walk of Fame in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Art aficionados peruse the Getty Museum, with its European paintings, drawings, sculpture, decorative arts, and European and American photographs, or the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, which is the largest art museum in the western United States. Families have options, too, many of them making the 20-mile trip to Universal Studios to ride the roller coasters.
