Five words that describe The Beverly Hilton’s style:

1. Retro

2. Celeb-obsessed (in a good way)

3. Laid-back

4. Old Hollywood

5. Busy

The Four-Star Beverly Hilton has a retro, Old Hollywood style that we love but the hotel is not stuck in the past. In fact, it’s as busy as ever, hosting red carpet events at least once a week. You’re bound to spot a celebrity or two — we always do, which is one of the reasons we always have fun staying here. We saw wicked ex-housewife Nicolette Sheridan last time, as well as evil Alexis Carrington, er, Joan Collins, walking the red carpet for a charity event at the hotel. There’s always a who-might-show energy. We also love the laid-back style of Trader Vic’s, the legendary Polynesian-style indoor/outdoor lounge. The lounge is a comfortable, elegant spot for a drink. The story is that Trader Vic himself invented the mai tai here back in 1944. The Aqua Star pool is also one of our favorite pools in Beverly Hills. The service is friendly, there’s a nice lunch menu and you get free Wi-Fi access. This is how people in Hollywood work, right? In summer, we also love the movie nights around the palm-tree flanked pool. Get there by 7:00 to secure your chaise, order your drink and get your Milk Duds in hand. It’s pure movie magic.
