Tucked between Venice Beach and Playa del Rey, The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey is a welcoming respite any time of year. It’s a quick drive (especially for L.A. standards) from Los Angeles International Airport, so it’s perfect for an overnight layover. The luxury hotel is perched on the largest man-made marina, great for taking advantage of the irresistible Southern California climate. On Saturdays (as long as the weather cooperates), you can get in touch with your inner Zen during an outdoor yoga session at the hotel. The pool, which you’ll definitely want to enjoy, is heated year-round. Summer in Marina del Rey doesn’t get extremely hot, thanks to the waterfront location. Winter is mild; it may not be beach season, but it sure beats shivering.
