Banyan Tree Macau

A high-rise urban retreat in Macau
VERIFIED LUXURY
Banyan Tree Macau is a luxurious, exclusive all-suite resort inside the entertainment mega-complex known as Galaxy Macau. Despite the always-buzzing location, you’ll find it a romantic and secluded retreat where you’ll be pampered and treated to Asia’s famous hospitality.

Banyan Tree is the first high-rise urban resort and the only hotel in Macau featuring private relaxation pools in all of its 246 suites and full-sized resort villas. The Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel’s spa-inspired ambiance offers you a multi-sensorial experience. Particularly pleasant are the Pool Villas, featuring both private pools and sliding glass doors opening directly onto their own gardens on the manmade beach resort deck.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • Make a reservation at Belon, a Five-Star grill that turns out succulent cuts like a  12-ounce dry-aged, grass-fed rib eye. And be sure to pick an accompaniment from the salt cart that rolls around the elegant dining room.
  • Find some tranquility from the whirring casinos in one of the city’s most comprehensive and luxurious spas. The Five-Star spa has body treatments performed by certified Banyan Tree Spa Academy graduates, a relaxing steam bath and organic products.
  • You will be reluctant to leave your accommodations: every villa and suite at the hotel is outfitted with a small, heated relaxation pool.
  • The hotel is home to the biggest sky-wave pool in the world, a 43,000-square-foot space that also has three Jacuzzis, a man-made beach and is connected to a separate lap pool. When the weather outdoors isn’t cooperating, there’s also an indoor pool on the 31st floor for you to use.
Things to Know
  • This hotel is located in glitzy Cotai, about 15 minutes by taxi from Macau International Airport and is an even shorter trip from the Taipa Ferry Terminal. If your taxi driver isn’t familiar with the hotel, try directing him to the well-known Galaxy Macau Hotel; Banyan Tree Macau is connected to it.
  • If you’re traveling to Macau to try your luck at the casino, while you’ll have plenty of nearby options for rolling the dice — the most convenient of which is at attached Galaxy Macau Hotel. It’s a full-service casino, with everything from mazes of slot machines to blackjack tables to roulette wheels and small-scale Vegas-style performances.
  • Don’t worry about packing basic toiletries. Bathrooms at Banyan Tree Macau are stocked with a variety of complimentary products, including dental and shaving kits, combs, nail files, cotton buds and bottles of Banyan Tree’s signature body wash, lotion, shampoo and conditioner.
  • The local scene is something to be reveled. All year long, you can attend an array of nearby festivals and celebrations, including the Macau Arts Festival, Macau International Boat Race and the Macau Grand Prix, the city’s most famous international event.
The Rooms
  • Each luxurious bedroom in the Five-Star Banyan Tree Macau Cotai Pool Suite comes with incredible views of Hengqin Island or Cotai City, custom wooden bathtubs, king-size beds and a rain shower. You can also opt for a resort view if you’d rather take a peek at the Galaxy Macau's Grand Resort Deck.
  • The Banyan Suite takes indulgent living up a notch, with its separate dining and living areas alongside a private relaxation pool. The resort offers one or two bedroom options so bring the kids along for a family getaway they’ll never forget.
  • If you’re looking for a suite with floor-to-ceiling glass window views of  the cityscape as well as a personal pool inside for you to relax in, then the resort’s Signature Pool Suit has your name on it.
  • Villas at Banyan Tree Macau are not to be forgotten — including its sky garden, large outdoor pool and crystal Jacuzzi and indoor jet pool. If you’re really looking to splurge, the Presidential Suite, occupying the 30th and 31st floors and includes a spa, butler and casino room, will feel like a magnificent mansion.
The Look
  • With its in-room relaxation pool, Tibetan wood bath tub and high-tech amenities such as dual flat-screen TVs, Blu-ray DVD player and bedside room control panels, accommodations at this luxury Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Macau hotel are chic, stylish and contemporary.
  • Soft, soothing music wafts through the public areas, from the towering lobby to the dimly lit guest room corridors, superseded only by the occasional plucking of a Khim in the lobby by a musician dressed in traditional Thai costume.
  • A number of natural elements are incorporated into Banyan Tree Macau’s overall design, from beds of stones and water installations in the lobby to artwork made from wood positioned near the guest room elevator areas.
  • Light fixtures near the lobby elevators are covered by ornate Oriental-style shades, while abstract Asian paintings and decorative pieces with flowers, leaves or forests are hung in the villas and suites.
  • Banyan Tree Macau certainly has a little over-the-top Vegas glamour in it, particularly at its outdoor pool area that has a 350-ton white-sand beach and the massive outdoor sky-wave pool.
