What is the design style of The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel?

The inspiration for The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel is the lovely and romantic city of Venice, Rome. The inside of this Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star resort has canals complete with gondolas that are available for rides through the shopping areas, and blue-sky painted ceilings along with replicated apartment facades on the level above the stores. These exteriors come in oranges, pinks and blues and even have mock balconies and windows. The lobby itself has a gold fountain in the center with painted ceilings, giving it an Italian Renaissance feel.

The design style of The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel is Vegas meets Venice. In this opulent replica of an Italian village, you’ll quickly find yourself transported to a world very different from the Portuguese- and Chinese-influenced one outside the resort doors. The large lobby of the hotel boasts marble columns, a large gold fountain centerpiece and brightly painted mural ceilings channeling the Sistine Chapel. From the main lobby, you can quickly find yourself surrounded by slots and black jack tables on the casino floor, where the flashing lights offer a nice contrast to the sculptural glass chandeliers. Upstairs at the level-three shops, stroll alongside canals and over bridges on Grand Canal Street or toward St. Mark’s Plaza. Romantics can take a gondola ride with the captain dressed appropriately in a striped shirt and a straw hat with a red scarf, just like in Venice.
