Spago

Airy beachfront elegance in Maui
VERIFIED LUXURY
With Spago at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, Wolfgang Puck shows that despite recent culinary forays into fast food and canned soups, he remains a master of the fine-dining experience. The Spago name, of course, isn’t unique — Puck catapulted to international fame back in 1982 with the first Spago on Sunset Boulevard, and he now operates three Spago outposts on the mainland: one in Beverly Hills, one in Colorado and one in Las Vegas.

Each Spago maintains its own identity, and that’s good news for anyone who’s hungry in Hawaii. The menu incorporates the best of the islands, fusing traditional Hawaiian tastes and locally sourced ingredients with Asian influences and Puck’s signature California style.

Follow the foodies and the fabulously dressed into Spago, on the lobby level of the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea (located at 3900 Wailea Alanui Dr.). As one of Wolfgang Puck’s ventures, you can expect some of the celebrity chef’s classic dishes as well as those that show off a fusion of Hawaiian and Californian cuisine.

The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star, 135-seat restaurant has a colorful, contemporary design that is played up with Puck’s signature Asian touch. The bar and lounge area showcase stunning views of the pristine white-sand Wailea Beach and the Pacific Ocean, allowing you to take in the postcard-perfect view while sipping a creative Hawaiian cocktail.

Things to Know
  • Spago does require patrons to wear footwear, which may seem like an odd request to you now but is perfectly understandable once you see the perfect white sand beach nearby.
  • It's easy to make a reservation at this elegant restaurant. However, if the restaurant is booked solid at your preferred time, we suggest you check back throughout the day as sometimes a table can open up due to cancellations. • Try the signature dish: Grilled mahi mahi with pineapple-ginger barbecue sauce, sweet Maui onions, shitake mushrooms and sizzling, sweet pineapple.
