Editor's note: Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club, Surfside, Florida opened March 23. Famed architect Richard Meier (whose work includes the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art and the Getty Center in Los Angeles) and Parisian interior architect Joseph Dirand revamped the legendary private club for Harvey Firestone and his friends into a glamorous new hotel.
Expect all rooms to have floor-to-ceiling windows, and most come with glass terraces for unobstructed views of the ocean and city skyline. A beachy palette of white, tan and green get luxurious touches with sun-bleached woods, white marble and brass.
Close to the Bal Harbour Shops and Miami Beach, the luxury hotel will be a dining destination. It wil debut the first Miami restaurant from master chef Thomas Keller (of Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star The French Laundry) and a Miami outpost of the Sersale family's famed Positano seafood restaurant Le Sirenuse. Other amenities include a champagne bar and a spa that boasts six treatment rooms, two spa cabanas and a hammam.
