Il Mulino New York is a lively dinner spot during the evening, so while our Forbes Travel Guide editors don’t feel the noise level ever got too loud during our most recent visit, the atmosphere was definitely buzzing, but in a good way.
No tables were available when we recently visited the restaurant on a weekday — advance reservations are a good idea – so we instead sidled up to the bar to take the whole scene in. There were Italian-American classics playing in the background, and we could hear muffled, animated conversations at the some of the nearby tables. The Forbes Travel Guide Recommended restaurant does host larger parties and events, so if a big group is seated near you it might, obviously, get a little louder.
If you want to enjoy a quieter dinner, request one of the tables located along the windows that look out over the Mediterranean-style terrace, or even better, ask to sit on the terrace itself if the weather is nice.
