Though you have everything you need for imbibing in your room at L’Auberge Carmel, you actually won’t find a mini-bar in your room. The service area on the desk in the main room is set with a pair of wine glasses and two curved water glasses. There’s a brushed nickel ice bucket that the housekeeping staff will offer to fill with ice. Below the black granite desktop you’ll find a door concealing a mini refrigerator, where you can chill bottles of wine you may have picked up on visits to local wineries. If you’re desire a cocktail, we suggest you head to the reception parlor, where there’s a vintage desk filled with spirits like 20-year-old Niepoort tawny port, Hennessy XO Cognac, Grand Marnier 100, Oban single-malt Scotch. And locked away in the cheese cave, you’ll find Pappy Van Winkle 15-, 20- and 23-year-old bourbons. The reception area staff will be happy to help serve you and add the charge for your libation to your guest folio.
