The Five-Star French Laundry serves some of the country’s most beautiful, delicious and masterful food from its location at 6640 Washington St. in Yountville, Calif. Housed in a historic stone-fronted building that served as a saloon in the 1880s, and later a French laundry before becoming a restaurant in the ‘70s, The French Laundry is the headquarters of acclaimed chef Thomas Keller, who also owns Yountville’s Ad Hoc, Bouchon and Bouchon Bakery. Yountville is little more than a charming cluster of buildings, restaurants and inns surrounding the Silverado Trail, which passes through town as it stretches from Napa to Calistoga, and is known for its less-traveled collection of wineries. The attractive but simple building that houses The French Laundry is easily reached by walking from any of Yountville’s inns.
