For formal dining, a round booth in the center of The Astor Court is a wonderful experience to sit below the vaulted ceiling. Request a table in the Petit Salon by the window to people-watch on 55th Street and listen to a live pianist Wednesday through Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Because of the way The Astor Court in The St. Regis New York is designed, every table in the restaurant is a prime place to sit. From every table in the art nouveau-inspired restaurant, you’ll enjoy the gorgeous columns that ring the room, the glittering chandeliers overhead and the view of all the comings and goings at the hotel. Designed as a lobby restaurant, the intimate space puts you at the center of it all no matter where you sit. But the best table has to be the one at the back of the room, directly across from the entrance to the King Cole Bar. There, you can see everything — even the vivid Maxfield Parrish mural in the King Cole Bar that John Jacob Astor commissioned in 1906.
