The locker rooms at Mandarin Oriental, New York’s gym aren’t particularly spacious, but they are tastefully appointed and fully equipped. You’ll find lockers with programmable locks, a single shower stall, a water closet and a small sauna where you can recharge your sore muscles after hitting the elliptical or treadmill. The hotel’s 75-foot lap pool is also located next to the locker room, and so you’ll also find neatly stacked towels and a swimsuit dryer here for your convenience. The shower comes fully stocked with shampoo and conditioner, and you’ll find luxurious grooming products like ESPA perfume and Moroccanoil hairspray for freshening up afterwards. If you’re interested in using the heat treatment facilities within the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star spa on the 35th floor — like the steam room or the vitality pool — an extra $50 surcharge is applied. Forget your gym paraphernalia? No sweat: iPods and even sneakers are available on loan here and athletic wear — like shorts, pants and shirts — is available for purchase.
