Located on the second floor, just across from the Frédéric Fekkai salon, the gym at The Mark is open 24 hours a day and is staffed by friendly attendants who will do everything from getting you chilled Evian water to helping you stretch out after a jaunt on the treadmill. The mirror-walled gym isn’t as large as some urban hotels (square footage in the Big Apple can be limited, after all), but you’ll find three LifeFitness treadmills, two elliptical machines and two stationary bicycles, all with personal television sets and iPod docks. LifeFitness and Atlantis weight-training equipment rounds out the offerings, though you’ll also find free weights and yoga balls if you prefer to create your workout.
If you prefer working out with Mother Nature, however, definitely head over to Central Park, located less than a block from the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel. Manhattan’s premier park offers some of the best jogging paths in the city, ice skating at Wollman Rink in the winter and rowing and bike riding at the Boat House come warm weather.
