Situated in the tranquil, leafy Upper East Side neighborhood of Manhattan and just a stone’s throw away from Central Park, The Mark offers a variety of room types with different views. The best ones to get are those overlooking East 77th Street, a quiet, mostly residential block lined with elegant brownstones. If you can’t nab one of those rooms or suites at the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel, ask for a room facing Madison Avenue, one of the city’s prime shopping streets, though those will likely be a touch noisier. Yet both are more picturesque than those rooms with the courtyard views, allowing looks at private residences and, yes, unfortunately, air ducts.
