Bikinis and swim trunks won’t get much use at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park unless you’re planning a dip in your room’s marble bathtub. Yet, while the New York luxury hotel doesn’t boast its own pool, there are plenty in Manhattan for you to dive into. Asphalt Green, a recreational complex on the Upper East Side, features the borough’s only 50-meter, Olympic standard pool. The day rate is $35 for adults and $10 for children. Then, a little further is Central Park’s Lasker Pool, which is situated between 106th and 108th streets. Admission at this public pool is free, meaning it can get a bit cramped during peak hours. If you’re looking for something a bit swankier, there’s always the pool at Le Parker Meridien, where day passes will set you back $100 (but its beautiful outdoor deck and lounge-side cocktail deliveries may well be worth it).
