How do I get to The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park from the airport?

Answers from Our Experts (1)

Thanks to its convenient Midtown Manhattan location, The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park can be reached by taxi and several modes of public transportation from both LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport.

Cabs can be caught at various taxi stands just outside of both terminals. The flat rate from JFK is $45 plus tolls, tax and tip. Standard per mile taxi rates apply from LaGuardia.

Van shuttle services, including SuperShuttle and Go Airlink, make regular trips from each airport and will drop you at the front door of the New York City hotel. Rates start at $15 and up per person. Some shuttle services require a reservation — we recommend calling ahead.

Public transportation options from JFK include Airtrain (always a flat $5 fare), which connects to both the A and E subway lines (a $2.25 one-way fare). The A train is the best option as it stops at nearby 59th Street-Columbus Circle — a short walk to the hotel. The Airtrain connecting to the Long Island Rail Road (a $3 to $7 rate depending on when you travel) is probably the quickest option into Manhattan, though its Penn Station drop-off point is more than a mile from the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel, meaning you’ll probably need to take a cab from there.

The only public transportation option from LaGuardia is the M60 bus, which connects to all south-bound subway lines in Manhattan (many of which stop at nearby 59th Street-Columbus Circle), as well as the N, Q trains in Queens, which stop just steps from The Ritz-Carlton, New York, Central Park.
