Which amenities you’ll find in your room at The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park depends primarily on what kind of accommodation you’ve selected. Standard rooms are, well, fairly standard, featuring a fully stocked mini-bar with assorted glassware, a safe, a CD and DVD player, a small selection of magazines and books, shoe shine equipment (plus complimentary daily shoe shines) and a host of hotel-monogrammed stationery that even includes Post-it Notes. One additional treat is the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel’s extensive DVD collection, which showcases Oscar winners from the past century, kids’ favorites and, best of all, a selection of films featuring scenes in nearby Central Park (think When Harry Met Sally, The Muppets Take Manhattan and Breakfast at Tiffany's). Rooms with views over Central Park come equipped with telescopes so you can fully appreciate the Frederick Law Olmsted–designed greenery and maybe get some bird watching in if you’re lucky. And if you’re staying in one of the large suites, you’ll also have a full library of books on art and architecture and New York City.
